The Social Justice committee attended a meeting of Pax Christi held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Wyandanch on February 5th, 2012.  At that meeting participants wrote letters to their Senators and Congressmen urging "No War With Iran" as reflected in the Petition below.  Copies of this petition are being used by our committee to collect signatures from family, friends and parishioners. Please make a copy and obtain signatures from your friends and aquaintenances if you agree with this petition.  Completed petitions may be returned to John Baum, Dennis Boyce, or Patrick Molluso; or sent to the address given at the bottom of the petition.    The attendees at the Pax Christi meeting also discussed the problem of War Games being played at commercial facilities (www.strikeforcesports.net) in Commack and  Calverton, NY.  These games are being played by children aged 10 and above using realistic weapons, plastic pellets, warfare clothing, etc.  A group from Pax Christi went to the Commack facility to investigate since games are considered a very poor if not dangerous way to condition a child, .i.e. to think of war as a game. Future action to be taken, if any, will be considered at future meetings.

No War With Iran

Please Sign the Petition to Prevent War with Iran

We won't wait for the bombs to drop to make our voices heard.

President Obama, another war isn't what this country needs!

A military strike represents a threat to our security equal to that posed by Iran's alleged nuclear weapons

program. Recent history proves war isn't working. We expect the US to use every means at its disposal to

prevent a strike on Iran by Israel or the US and pursue a diplomatic resolution to the dispute over Iran's

alleged nuclear weapons program.
